Portraits

I create personal, intimate, deep portraits, establishing a connection and taking care of the contact with the person I photograph. I believe that a photo or video session is an ideal space to tune in and build a trustful relationship.

In my work, I don’t just aim to create photographs and videos; I want to create personal, intimate, and deep portraits that tell a story, your story. I firmly believe in the importance of establishing an authentic and sincere connection with those who choose me, building a mutual trustful relationship.

Every photo session or video with me becomes a special moment, a space where we tune in, where I take care of our contact, ensuring that your portrait reflects your essence.

I invite you to immerse yourself in a unique portrait experience, where authenticity, play, depth, are at the center of the stage.

It would be an honor for me to have the opportunity to capture your essence in a portrait, giving you an indelible memory to cherish forever.

”In Bici nel Parco”

These photos were taken for the guide ‘In Bici nel Parco’.
Photographic service commissioned by the Casentinesi Forests, Monte Falterona and Campigna National Park. ‘
‘Eighteen years after the first edition, this second edition proposes the 21 itineraries, all checked and retraced, especially with the e-bike. The guide, illustrated with numerous color photographs, opens with some brief historical and naturalistic notes on the Park, and then moves on to the detailed description of the itineraries. Each of these is traced on a map together with the altimetric profile, and the length, the difference in altitude, the difficulty and the travel time, with the e-bike or MTB, and the recommended period are reported.”

Joussef Funky Drummer!

My friend, where have you been all this time?

Hidden among the beats, the notes, and the offbeats?

I was here, waiting for you to show up. I was also hidden in a Jazz club, behind barricades of counters, fiery bartenders, bursts of sour cocktails, and refermented wines.

Here you are, in your light, in your shadows, in smiles, grimaces, and boasts, lightness and strength, intensity and power, of your glorious youth.

Your art and your heart beat, pulsate in your bare chest, which is no longer afraid to show itself, to face the wind of life.

Life is waiting for you, out there, every night.

And we are no longer afraid.

We live it, without respite, but at a slow rhythm, a bachata, a tango, a milonga.

And then, often, a soul, a blues, a funky.

Thank you, Youssef, beautiful soul.

.

With the magnificent @youssef_funky_drummer

🌿 New video – For Pachamama lovers

Have you ever felt an ancient connection with the Earth? Many before us have had this revelation, and they created a divine image of Her, of that essence, of which you can feel a part so deeply and viscerally.

The Great Mother, also known as the Great Goddess or Mother Goddess, is a primordial female deity associated with fertility, birth, creativity, sexuality, and growth. This symbolic figure can be traced back to various cultures and civilizations starting from prehistory, both in the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras. The Great Mother embodies the continuous cycle of birth, development, maturity, decline, death, and regeneration, reflecting natural and cosmic cycles. Examples of this deity include Ashtoreth, Ishtar, Astarte, Atar, Hathor, Aphrodite, Cybele, Pachamama, and Kunapipi.

The music in this video was composed and recorded by me, using an overlay of sounds from gongs, didgeridoo, voice, cymbals, ocean drum.

The videos were shot in the Casentinesi Forest National Park.

Test Day

Yesterday, I participated in the selection process for the course “Audiovisual Product for the Storytelling of the Territory” by Demetra Formazione, funded by the European Social Fund, where the Carta Bianca Association will handle the teaching. The written test, which lasted three hours, involved writing a subject (for a documentary, a commercial, a film) that told the story of a territory through its people and places.

It was so powerful to express my passion and imagination in that text. I was vibrating, had goosebumps, imagining that my creativity and human connections were constructing a narrative outline for a documentary that could actually be realized (at least in my view!). I felt deep down that I am meant for this, that I want to do this, that it’s my moment to return to writing and making documentaries! Inside, I feel ready, and I believe I couldn’t even avoid it if I tried.

With five minutes left, I handed in the text, a subject for a documentary intertwining three women’s lives, although I had to summarize it from the rough draft after realizing the maximum space available wouldn’t suffice. I took a photo, wanting to remember the moment. You can see it below. There were only three of us left 🤭.

After nine years since Mystique Ouidah, a documentary shot in Benin, Central Africa, with Simone Stefanelli and the support of Maison de la Joie, I feel that my awareness has transformed, that my challenges are now different, and that the life path that has brought me here needs a turning point.

I can’t wait to find out on Friday if the two tests, written and oral, scored well. I’m on pins and needles because I want to refine my technical knowledge, create new connections with professionals and collaborators, and create beautiful things together with beautiful people.

Wish me luck!
